August 14th, 2023
Good evening.
In recognition of National Health Center Week 2023, The C.W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. (CWWCHC) would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to our donors, community partners, board members, and health center advocates.
Because of your support, CWWCHC is able to provide high quality, affordable primary and preventive Medical and Dental Care, 340B Pharmacy, Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder counseling and treatment, Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture, Acupressure, Herbal Therapies), Women’s Health services, Pediatric care, Community Health Worker services, Case Management, Mobile Medical and Dental programming, non-emergency Transportation (at no cost to the patient), and other Support Services to more than 13,000 patients each year, representing over 30,000 patient visits.
Our patient base includes some of the community’s most vulnerable members – the poor, the disenfranchised, the elderly, the disabled, veterans, and those experiencing homelessness. Because you place your trust in us, CWWCHC has been able to open three new locations to better serve under-resourced populations throughout Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas.
To continue to meet the growing needs of our patients and community, we are pleased to announce that CWWCHC has embarked on a bold project to demolish its 83-year-old medical building located at 3333 Wilkinson Boulevard and build a new state-of-the-art facility on the same property. Once constructed, the 17,700 square foot building will feature open floor plans with an inviting, light-filled atmosphere that promotes the Patient-Centered Medical Home model which places patients at the forefront of care. (See photos below.)

Now, more than ever, our community needs the comfort of knowing that we are here to remove barriers to care for everyone who needs us – no matter their financial situation or background. It takes a community to operate a Federally Qualified Community Health Center. Today and every day, CWWCHC thanks, honors, and celebrates you for the special ways in which you support our mission.
Happy National Health Center Week! Thank You for Being a Valuable Partner!
Sincerely,
The C.W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. Board of Directors & Staff
*National Health Center Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness about the accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades and the many ways in which community health centers provide affordable healthcare to more than 30 million patients each year (www.healthcenterweek.org). During National Health Center Week 2023 (Aug. 6th through 12th), CWWCHC will continue to provide back-to-school physicals and immunizations, distribute care kits to the homeless, and host patient and staff appreciation activities. CWWCHC also hosted its 9th Annual Back to School Community Health Fair on August 5th to kick off the week. The event was a resounding success, with more than 2,000 people and over 65 vendors in attendance. Held at the Stratford Richardson YMCA, the event provided back to school physicals, COVID-19 vaccinations, free health screenings, free bookbags and school supplies, free eye exams with free eyeglasses, free food, live music, games, prizes, bouncy houses, an African Drum Circle, face painting, caricature and portrait sketching, and fun for the entire family.
